CTL Begins Shipping VoiceSupport NT™, its new Windows NT®-based voice processing system
Shelton, CT—January 17, 2000—CTL, Inc., a world leading provider of voice processing systems, announced today that its VoiceSupport™ NT product has been released to general availability for all customers.
VoiceSupport™ NT, which was created by CTL software engineers using the Microsoft NT operating system, allows users to view their voice, fax, and e-mail messages from their computer workstation on any TCP/IP LAN. Users can choose between receiving their messages in the Microsoft Exchange/Outlook INBOX or VoiceSupport NT’s own GUI.
“VoiceSupport™ NT uses Microsoft NT Server 4.0 as its operating system which allows it to have several Computer Telephony applications running simultaneously. VoiceSupport NT incorporates integrated desktop messaging, speech recognition and Interactive Voice Response to give organizations one solution to all their Computer Telephony needs.”
VoiceSupport™ NT is based on a Pentium class 300 MHz platform with 128MB RAM. This NT platform has a CD-ROM, Super Disk drive and 250 hours of storage. Optional features of VoiceSupport NT include integrated desktop messaging, fax mail and IVR.
“VoiceSupport™ NT is designed to assist office employees with managing different kinds of messages (voice, fax and e-mail) simultaneously,” said Ed Hansen, Director of Product Development of CTL. “Voice messages can be played as .wav files from the users personal computer. Fax Mail lets users receive personal fax messages at their workstation so they can view it on the screen, print it to a local printer, or save it as a file. E-mail messages appear in the same INBOX as the fax and voice messages, which allows for easy message management. VoiceSupport NT truly represents the convergence of voice and data.”
VoiceSupport™ NT includes automated attendant speech recognition. A caller can speak the name of the person they want to speak with and VoiceSupport NT will transfer the call. “Unlike other voice mail manufacturers, CTL wanted to include speech recognition as part of the standard voice mail feature set. When confronted with an automated attendant, callers prefer to speak naturally rather than entering digits or remembering a person’s extension.”
A four (4) port 250 hour VoiceSupport NT system with two (2) ports of speech recognition and three (3) seats of integrated desktop messaging has a suggested retail price of only $17,900.00.
CTL supplies high-quality voice mail, automated attendant, and interactive voice systems through an authorized dealer channel.
